GENERAL MEETING

DIRECTORS COMMENTS:

Hagerstown:
Thanks to all who helped out on Saturday 10/29.  The day was very hectic, and we really appreciate everything that was done--making sure our students ate, keeping them together, making phone calls, etc.  It all paid off---we WON 1st place at the parade!  A check for $450 will be sent to us in the near future--which will go toward our new uniforms.

11/8 trip to Washington, DC:
Itineraries and permission slips went home with the students at last night's rehearsal.  All are welcome to watch in Upper Senate Park at 11:00AM!

White Marsh Parade:
We will meet at the Avenue (down Corporate Ave) by 8:45AM.  We are very near the end of the parade.  It begins at 10:00AM
.  We will march through the mall again this year; pick-up area is in the mall parking lot between Hecht's and Sears.  Colorguard will wear black and white uniforms so that they stay warmer.

Thanks!

Minutes from the Band Booster Meeting on July 6th, 2005

Meeting was called to order at 6:40 by Terry Krummel.  After a brief discussion of Baltimore Co. Policies regarding paid instructors, the meeting was turned over to Kenny Goldsborough.

DIRECTOR’S COMMENTS  :  Marching Band season is quickly approaching.  Section leaders have begun preparations, and will be making phone calls to their prospective students this week. An informal sectional is being planned for students to hear this season’s music.  Percussion has already begun to practice.  Our Drill Writer has been hard at work putting finishing touches on “sets,” which pertain to the movement of the Marchers.  Traditionally there have been approximately 22 “sets.”  This year our students will learn 39, which will make for quite a “moving” experience!!!

Summer mailing should have reached mailboxes on Wednesday, 7/6 with a separate mailing of our final calendar of events. Look for this two week’s prior to pre-camp.

TREASURER’S REPORT:  Always available upon request.  Please ask for a copy of the projected 2005-06 Budget.  Thanks to Diane and Kevin Webb for a fantastic job.  Kevin prepared and delivered a very concise and professional presentation.

An IRS review of our Tax Exempt Status was discussed, as well as the possibility of a Budget Audit.  After a vote to increase the Drill Writer’s fee,  the 2005-06 Budget was unanimously accepted.

MEDICAL STAFF REPORT:  Carol Clark began by thanking the Jazz Band for their talents at her daughter’s wedding.  Medical kits are in good shape, water and Gatorade will be biggest expense for Band Camp.  Donations are always welcome.  A decision was made to discontinue gratis status for medical personnel on away trips.  See Terry Krummel for By-Laws Amendment Proposal.

FUNDRAISERS:  Town Fair THIS SATURDAY, July 9.  Volunteers needed at 5pm to help tear-down.  CAR WASH  JULY 16 at White Marsh 7-11 across from Police Station.

ORIOLES NIGHT  AUGUST 13  Tickets on sale at Town Fair—Deadline July 23—contact  Paul Klawunder at oospiceman@yahoo.com   Also on sale at TOWN FAIR—Sammy Sosa raffle—Drawing at 4:30 pm.    NEW GATOR WINDOW CLINGS---$2 each display your support for the BAND.
