GENERAL MEETING
DIRECTORS COMMENTS:
Hagerstown:
Thanks to all who helped out on Saturday 10/29. The day was very hectic, and we
really appreciate everything that was done--making sure our students ate,
keeping them together, making phone calls, etc. It all paid off---we WON 1st
place at the parade! A check for $450 will be sent to us in the near
future--which will go toward our new uniforms.
11/8 trip to Washington, DC:
Itineraries and permission slips went home with the students at last night's
rehearsal. All are welcome to watch in Upper Senate Park at 11:00AM!
White Marsh Parade:
We will meet at the Avenue (down Corporate Ave) by 8:45AM. We are very near the
end of the parade. It begins at 10:00AM. We will march through the mall again this year; pick-up area is in the
mall parking lot between Hecht's and Sears. Colorguard will wear black and
white uniforms so that they stay warmer.

Meeting was called to order by Gary Ehrlinger at 6:35.
BAND DIRECTOR’S COMMENTS:
Both Mr. Goldsborough and Mrs. Wehr were in attendance. Upcoming events discussed were as follows:
- Thursday 9/22 practice will include Field Show during halftime
of Perry Hall Soccer game.
- USSBA Competition at Westminster High School on Saturday, 10/1.
- Wind Ensemble “Informance” at Perry Hall Middle
for incoming 6th Grade on Monday, 10/3.
- Fall Concert by Wind Ensemble on Thursday, 10/6 (no MB practice).
- Columbus Day trip to New York on 10/10.
Kings Dominion Trip successful. Reminder to ALWAYS send water and a snack with your student.
Director’s presented BB with a check in the amount of $750 from the Perry Hall/White Marsh Business Association. President of the Association, Mrs. Lynn C. Richardson was very impressed with the MB volunteers at the Perry Hall Town Fair.

Payment for the Percussion Instructor and Color Guard Instructor was discussed and a revote was taken in favor of payments.

FUNDRAISERS: The First Annual Marching Gators Car Show was a complete success!!! Every space was filled. Plan to fill both lots next year.
All profit will benefit the Uniform Fund.
Pizza Sales were down from last year; all profit will be split between the Student Accounts and the Operating Budget.

PROPOSAL PRESENTATION- Dave Jones- Philadelphia Pretzels
Mr. Jones discussed supplying pretzels for profit at the upcoming Car Show Concession. All enjoyed samples. A vote was passed to include the pretzels in the concession stand menu and also utilize them as a Fund Raiser in the future.

John Bourassa, Grand Knight of the Perry Hall Knights of Columbus presented the BB’s with a check for $100, to benefit the Uniform Fund.
SPIRIT WEAR:
Jeff Mitchell, from The Logo Shop discussed Spirit Wear for the coming season.
Our theme this year, Phantom of the Piano Studio, will be depicted in a Tee-Shirt for sale beginning at the Friday, August 12th Field Show Performance, with proceeds benefiting the Uniform Fund. A personalized PHMB jacket is also in the works. Look for the Spirit Wear Table at the Field Show on Aug. 12. Volunteers Needed.

Kings Dominion Trip:
- originally scheduled for Oct. 8; being rescheduled due to SAT's being held at
PHHS
- will try to schedule on Sept. 24, but will schedule on Sept. 17 if we cannot
be accommodated
Myrtle Beach Trip (in the works – not definite yet):
- tentatively scheduled for April 27-30, 2006
- travel company recommended by Kenny's friend--Fiesta-val

- groups would include marching band, Wind Ensemble, and Symphonic Winds (but
would be open to all band members)
- concert performance on Friday night, parade on Saturday morning
- will look into possibly moving the trip to Spring Break
Car Show:
- if we don't go to Kings Dominion that day, we will have some or all of the
students perform and help at the car show on the Sept. 17.
Attendance:
- Wednesday and Thursday rehearsals are mandatory. For Thursday rehearsals
students/parents must clear in advance with the Band Directors on an individual
basis if specific Thursday rehearsals become a problem.

Minutes from the Band Booster Meeting on July 6th, 2005
Meeting was called to order at 6:40 by Terry Krummel. After a brief discussion of Baltimore Co. Policies regarding paid instructors, the meeting was turned over to Kenny Goldsborough.
DIRECTOR’S COMMENTS : Marching Band season is quickly approaching. Section leaders have begun preparations, and will be making phone calls to their prospective students this week. An informal sectional is being planned for students to hear this season’s music. Percussion has already begun to practice. Our Drill Writer has been hard at work putting finishing touches on “sets,” which pertain to the movement of the Marchers. Traditionally there have been approximately 22 “sets.” This year our students will learn 39, which will make for quite a “moving” experience!!!
Summer mailing should have reached mailboxes on Wednesday, 7/6 with a separate mailing of our final calendar of events. Look for this two week’s prior to pre-camp.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Always available upon request. Please ask for a copy of the projected 2005-06 Budget. Thanks to Diane and Kevin Webb for a fantastic job. Kevin prepared and delivered a very concise and professional presentation.
An IRS review of our Tax Exempt Status was discussed, as well as the possibility of a Budget Audit. After a vote to increase the Drill Writer’s fee, the 2005-06 Budget was unanimously accepted.
MEDICAL STAFF REPORT: Carol Clark began by thanking the Jazz Band for their talents at her daughter’s wedding. Medical kits are in good shape, water and Gatorade will be biggest expense for Band Camp. Donations are always welcome. Minutes from the Band Booster Meeting on June 15, 2005
Meeting was called to order by Terry Krummel at 6:35 pm.
Director’s Comments: Mr. Goldsborough discussed the upcoming Marching Band Season. Approximately 160 students are currently registered. A quality Band is anticipated again this year, with a very strong percussion section. Joe Pipkin will be our Alumni Percussion Drum Line instructor. Lauren Meely will be helping with the Color Guard again this year. A reminder was made regarding the first installment of the $300 Band fee. $150 will be due on or before July 15th. Fees will be accepted at the next Meeting on July 6th, or may be sent directly to our PO Box 43712, Nottingham, MD 21236-0712.
Treasurer’s Report: Available upon request. A request is being made at this time to turn in all “scratch-off cards” and $$ collected. Contact Kevin Webb with any questions.

New Business: Melanie Goldsborough and Howie Lore, presented a proposal for an Indoor Color Guard Competition to be sponsored by Perry Hall High School with proceeds benefiting the Marching Band Uniform Fund as well as a new indoor competition mat for the color guard. Fundraisers: Paul Klawunder has been volunteered to serve as our Fundraiser Coordinator. Any new fundraising ideas should be submitted to Paul in the form of a proposal. Paul is currently working on the Fuddrucker’s Night, the Orioles/Perry Hall Family Night, August 13, 4:35 game against Toronto, as well as the Fall Car Show.

PTSA Flea Market/Car Show: Small but festive turnout for the Flea Market due to
Graduation and weather, however, concession chair, Marie Uhrin, reported a profit of
$350.00. Thanks to all who attended and helped out.

Welcome- A brief General meeting was called to order @ 6:35 by Terry Krummel.
Band Directors’ Comments / Upcoming Events- Mr. Goldsborough announced cancellation of the Miss America Parade due to lack of a sponsor for pageant. Participation in the M&T Bank Stadium Regional Marching Band Competition is new for this year.
Benefit of Membership in the USSBA was discussed.
Fundraisers- Flea Market Saturday, June 4th, PHHS. Volunteers are needed to set up from 7am-8am.. Students needed to help with food sales. Volunteers will also be needed for clean up from 12pm-1pm.

Meeting adjourned @ 6:55 to begin New Student Orientation headed by Mr. Goldsborough and Ms. Fletcher. A very impressive group of Band Students turned out to help welcome incoming freshman. The event was very well attended. Each new Band Booster family received the Survival Hand Book, created by Mrs. Cathy German and friends. Refreshments were started off on the right foot by the Webb Family, who donated a delicious cake. Soda was supplied by the Band. Thanks to all who helped make the night a success.

Minutes from the Wednesday, May 18, 2005 Band Booster Meeting
Welcome- Meeting opened at 6:35 by Terry Krummel, proposed meetings be kept to one hour in length. Congratulations were offered to incoming officers. Cathy German discussed the Band Booster Parent Survival Hand Book and it was distributed to the Band Directors for additions and comments. The Hand Book will be available June 1 as part of the New Freshman Orientation.
Band Directors’ Comments / Upcoming Events- Jordan Fletcher discussed May 26 Farewell Concert. Final Editing is being completed on the Fall Band Calendar. Note Date Change for New Freshman Orientation to June 1 at 7:00 pm. Kenny Goldsborough discussed possibility of adding competitive field shows as well as additional Marching Band Practice Night.
Neptune Festival has been dropped. Still waiting for Miss America Confirmation.
Band Camp begins Aug. 1, Camp Ramblewood-Aug., 8-10 Registration fee TBA.
Treasurer’s Report- Kevin Webb presented the Treasurer’s Report, which is available by request: kdk.kdk@version.net As Registration fee is finalized, it was decided that payment will be made in two installments with a dedicated amount specifically included, for care, upkeep and cleaning of current uniforms. MB siblings of Senior Students can benefit by “rolling over” any remaining funds. Submit a Student Account Transfer Form.
Fundraisers- Marie Uhrin, Chair of the Flea Market Food Table, June 4, 8am-1pm will be needing volunteers to help set-up7am-8am and tear-down 1pm-2pm, as well as several students to assist with food orders and delivery to vendors. Soda and pre-packaged food will be sold.
